[ENGLISH BELOW] Khadijeh è una giovane donna di 22 anni che vive nei pressi di un piccolo villaggio nel sud dell’Iran insieme a sua madre e ai suoi fratelli.

Il mio nome è Antonio Ligios, sono io ad avviare la raccolta fondi per Khadijeh perché purtroppo questo sito risulta essere inaccessibile in Iran. Sono uno studente italiano e frequento la facoltà di ingegneria informatica in Italia. Sono amico di Khadijeh da due anni e mezzo circa, ci siamo conosciuti tramite una piattaforma online che mette in contatto persone di tutto il mondo che intendono approfondire la loro conoscenza dell’inglese. Lei è in possesso dell'unico telefono presente in famiglia con la quale si mantiene in contatto con i vari parenti di altri villaggi.

• La sua vita

La sua famiglia vede mancare la figura paterna, che purtroppo li ha abbandonati. Prima erano le sorelle più grandi ad occuparsi della madre malata ma, col passare degli anni, quest'ultime si sono sposate abbandonando il nido famigliare e lasciando alla giovane Khadijeh il duro compito di occuparsi della casa, dei fratelli minori e del bestiame, unica loro fonte di sostentamento. Nonostante le difficoltà, è riuscita a concludere il ciclo di studi fino al diploma, per poi non poter proseguire all’università.

Nel suo villaggio, non riuscendo ad avere un lavoro che gli permetta di sostenere economicamente sé stessi e la propria famiglia, i ragazzi finiscono per contrabbandare illegalmente petrolio servendosi di auto vecchie attraverso strade sterrate, il che causa un gran numero di decessi nella zona.

In un piccolo villaggio nel deserto dell'Hormozgan l'ambizione delle donne si riduce al prendere marito. Ed è questo che potrebbe diventare il futuro di Khadijeh, pressata dalla famiglia affinché sposi uno dei suoi cugini, ma lei conosce il mondo fuori dal villaggio e vuole di più dalla sua vita. Lei è una ragazza diversa rispetto alle donne che la circondano, vuole continuare gli studi e laurearsi, vuole avere le stesse possibilità che abbiamo noi. Ma questi sono sogni purtroppo troppo costosi per una famiglia come la sua.

• La sua speranza

Io e lei ultimamente parliamo spesso della possibilità di studiare all'estero, qualche mese fa sentii parlare di un di un corso nazionale in Italia per studenti stranieri come lei. Questo corso aiuta i ragazzi a colmare le loro varie lacune per renderli idonei a frequentare l’università Italiana, insegnandogli la lingua italiana e alcune materie a scelta dello studente che posso far parte dell'ambito umanistico oppure scientifico. Ho avuto il piacere di conoscere alcuni degli studenti stranieri che hanno frequentato questo corso nella mia città, alcuni di loro provengono da paesi lontani come il Congo, e ora tutti studiano all’università.

I costi di questo servizio sono quasi irrilevanti, quindi io e Khadijeh abbiamo iniziato ad informarci sulle procedure per venire qua e iniziare l’università, ma le cose hanno iniziato a complicarsi quando chiamammo l’ambasciata iraniana: è davvero complesso per una persona senza reddito del Medio Oriente ottenere il visto per entrare in Italia. Il passaporto iraniano è diventato talmente debole che viaggiare dall’Iran all’Italia è troppo costoso per un povero studente.

• Il suo obbiettivo

Ma ci sono ostacoli più grandi. Il visto per studio richiede almeno un saldo di 7000 € nel proprio conto bancario (a partire da 6 mesi prima l’inizio delle procedure burocratiche) affinché possa garantire la propria permanenza in Italia senza riscontrare alcun tipo di problema economico per un anno. Questa è una spesa insostenibile per noi, ma è l’unico modo che ha per venire qui e realizzare questo suo sogno.Per questo motivo abbiamo deciso di chiedere il vostro aiuto e iniziare questa raccolta fondi. Il vostro contributo è l’unico modo per lei di ricevere il visto e vivere in Italia, questo fino a quando non prenderà la borsa di studio e potrà proseguire autonomamente la sua carriera.

Khadijeh is a 22 years old girl who lives in the southern part of Iran with her mom and her little siblings near a village built in the barren desert of Hormozgan.

I’m starting this GoFundMe on behalf of my friend Khadijeh because this website is banned in Iran. I’m Antonio Ligios, I’m a student attending the computer engineering university here in Italy. It’s been two years and a half since me and Khadijeh met through an online platform where people from all around the world could practice their English and share their culture.

• Her life

She owns the only phone of the household, that allows her to keep in touch with the older sisters and the other relatives in other villages. Her father left them years ago, so Khadijeh is alone taking care of her sick old mother and looking after the little siblings. Year after year, the older sisters all got married so Khadijeh remained the only one at home able to cook, tend animals and take care of the family.

Fortunately, Khadijeh could study until she obtained the diploma at the public high-school, but now it becomes impossible for her to continue with her studies in Iran. Hardly surprising since people there in the village barely have money enough to buy the food. Most of the guys don’t even have a job so they get into illegal oil trade, speeding with ramshackle cars down the dirt roads of the desert. For that reason, lots of men of all ages die every month by car accident, but this seems the only way to survive nevertheless. Small village women’s ambitions mostly consist of getting married with someone who can support them economically. That’s the only reality shown to Khadijeh, pressed everyday by her family to follow the path of her sisters and get married with one of her cousins. Most of the people are fine with this lifestyle there, most of the people don’t even know what the world outside the village is. But Khadijeh is different, she knows what’s waiting for her outside, she wants to keep on studying, take the degree, work and normally live as we all do. An unattainable hope since although her family could handle the expense to attend university they would never invest in the future of a middle-daughter.

• Her hope

It's been a while since we talked about the possibility of studying abroad, some months ago I heard about a National Course here that helps foreign people to study in Italy. This course fills the gaps of the students in order to attend the academic lessons without any problem, teaching Italian language and other customized subjects according to the course of study you will follow (scientific or humanities fields). I had the pleasure of meeting some of the foreign students that attended this course in my city, some of them came from far country like Congo, and now they all study here attending the university.

The costs of this service are almost irrelevant, so we started to get informed about the procedures for coming here and starting a university, but things got complicated as we called the Iranian embassy: as a matter of fact, it’s burdensome for a poor middle eastern person to get the visa for entering in Italy. Lately, Iranian passport also has become so weak so travel from there to Italy became too expensive for a poor student.

• Her goal

But there are other huge obstacles. In fact, student visa requires you to have 7000 € in your own bank account (at least six months before the bureaucratic procedure) to guarantee you will be able to live one year in Italy without any problem. This is a huge expense for us but it’s the only way for her to come here and give this dream a chance.

In order to collect this amount of money, we decided to ask for your help and start this fundraising. That’s the only way she can achieve the visa and live in Italy at least until she will take the scholarship and continue with her career by her own. Even the smaller help would mean the world for Khadijeh.
