Ciao a tutti,

Siamo KISEDET, una ONG con sede a Dodoma, Tanzania. La nostra missione è sostenere i bambini che provengono dalle famiglie più povere che vivono nella regione di Dodoma e Singida, implementando attività legate all'istruzione e al miglioramento delle condizioni di vita. Supportiamo anche i bambini e i giovani che vivono e lavorano per strada in modo che possano accedere all’istruzione e sviluppare delle competenze.

Crediamo che l'istruzione sia un fattore fondamentale per la ricostruzione e lo sviluppo di un Paese, tuttavia molti bambini hanno difficoltà a frequentare la scuola perché è troppo lontana dalle loro abitazioni.

Dopo aver parlato con alcuni dei bambini che sosteniamo, abbiamo capito che alcuni di loro a volte devono camminare fino a 5 km per andare a scuola. Riesci a immaginare di camminare 10 km ogni giorno solo per andare e tornare da scuola?! Durante la stagione secca, la terra è molto polverosa e durante la stagione delle piogge, la strada è molto bagnata e scivolosa. Arrivano a scuola esausti, assetati e affamati, quindi questo influisce sul loro rendimento scolastico e a volte finiscono per abbandonare gli studi.

Inoltre in Tanzania i bambini aiutano sempre nelle faccende domestiche quindi avere delle biciclette sarebbe molto utile ogni volta che hanno bisogno di andare a ritirare le provviste per le loro famiglie al villaggio.

Per questi bambini possedere una bicicletta gli garantirebbe la possibilità di avere un’istruzione e qualsiasi contributo sarà importante per offrirgli questa opportunità!

CHI È KISEDET?

L’associazione KISEDET (Kigwe Social Economic Development and Training) è stata creata nel 1998 nel villaggio di Kigwe per fornire sostegno ai bambini provenienti da famiglie povere e agli orfani che vivevano con i nonni.

Nel 2001 è stata spostata la sede operativa a Dodoma, aprendo il centro di accoglienza a breve e lungo termine denominato “Shukurani”. Nel 2009, visto il crescente fenomeno dei bambini e dei giovani di strada, KISEDET ha aperto un centro di accoglienza diurno (drop-in center).

Nel 2010, la ONG ha comprato un pezzo di terra nel villaggio di Chigongwe, (a circa 30 km da Dodoma), dove è iniziata la costruzione del nuovo centro di accoglienza a lungo termine.

Nel corso di questi 25 anni, Kisedet non è attiva solo attraverso i suoi centri di accoglienza, ma realizza altri progetti volti a migliorare l’educazione dei bambini e dei giovani adulti, progetti di microcredito e seminari di educazione genitoriale rivolti alle loro famiglie affinché possano avere le competenze per vivere in modo autonomo, sostenersi economicamente ed educare i propri figli.

La visione di KISEDET è quella di dare potere ai bambini e ai giovani della comunità attraverso l’accesso all’istruzione al fine di ridurre la povertà.

COME POSSO AIUTARE?

Speriamo di raccogliere 700€ per l’acquisto di 10 mountain bike (70€ l'una). Le strade sono sconnesse e fangose e riteniamo che questo tipo di biciclette siano più adatte e più resistenti rispetto ad altre.

Qualsiasi cifra tu possa permetterti di donare sarà davvero apprezzata e farebbe una grande differenza per questi bambini. Nel caso in cui non potessi donare ti chiediamo di aiutarci condividendo questo progetto con i tuoi amici, con la tua famiglia o con chiunque pensi possa essere felice di aiutarci! Hello everyone,

We are KISEDET, a non-profit organization located in Dodoma, Tanzania. The mission of the organization is to implement activities related to education and improving their livelihood by supporting children who are from the poorest families living in the Dodoma and Singida Region. We also support children and youth who live and work in the streets so they can have access to education and develop their skills.

We believe that education is a fundamental factor in the rebuilding and development of a country, however, many children have difficulties attending school because it is too far.

After speaking with some of the children that we support, it became clear that some of them have to walk up to 5 km to go to school. Can you imagine walking 10 km every day just to go to and from school?! During the dry season, the soil is very dry in addition to being dusty and during the rainy season, the road is very wet and slippery. They get to school exhausted, thirsty, and hungry, which consequently affects their performance in school resulting in them dropping out.

Furthermore, in Tanzania, children always help out around the house so having bikes would be very helpful whenever they need to go and collect supplies for their families in the village.

Having bikes would also be crucial to the children having access to education. We would appreciate any contribution to provide the children a chance at education!

 

WHO IS KISEDET?

KISEDET (Kigwe Social Economic Development and Training) was created in 1998 in the village of Kigwe to support children from poor families and orphaned children who live with their grandparents.

In 2001, it moved its operational center to Dodoma, opening the short and long-term reception center called ‘Shukurani’, and in 2009, given the growing phenomenon of street children and young adults, KISEDET opened a drop-in center.

In 2010, the NGO bought a piece of land in the village of Chigongwe, (about 30 km from Dodoma), where the construction of the new long-term shelter began.

Over these 25 years, Kisedet has not only been active through its shelters but also implemented other projects aimed at improving the education of children and young adults, microcredit projects, and parental education seminars aimed at their families so that they can have the skills to independently support themselves economically and to educate their children.

KISEDET’s vision is to empower the children and young adults of the community with access to education to reduce poverty.

HOW CAN YOU HELP?

We hope to collect 700€ to buy 10 mountain-bikes (70€ each).The roads are bumpy and muddy and those bikes would be more suitable and durable compared to other types.
