Il progetto DND - Disabili, non Deficenti – che, utilizzando tecnologie di ultima generazione, realizza l’inclusione lavorativa di persone affette da gravi patologie fisiche.

Attraverso questo progetto pilota Helvetis, società della Valposchiavo (Svizzera) leader nel mondo dei droni, vuole dimostrare che nuove tecnologie e creatività rendono possibile l’inclusione di persone con disabilità fisiche fino ad oggi escluse dal mondo del lavoro.

In questa prima iniziativa Gianluca Pellegrino, Palermitano affetto da tetraparesi spastica, svilupperà un’Intelligenza Artificiale per l’analisi automatica di grandi quantità di immagini.

Il progetto prevede che durante i primi 6 mesi Gianluca sarà formato in materia di energia rinnovabile ed in particolare generatori eolici da IVPC - Italian Vento Power Corporation - uno dei maggiori riferimenti nel settore delle fonti rinnovabili in Italia.

In seguito, utilizzando un software creato su misura e comandato attraverso il solo movimento della lingua, aiuterà alla creazione di un’Intelligenza Artificiale. In pochi mesi questo sistema software apprenderà da Gianluca ad analizzare ed identificare le anomalie dei generatori eolici per poi iniziare a svolgere questo compito in autonomia permettendo il risparmio di enormi quantità di tempo.

Questo progetto apre la strada ad un nuovo capitolo di innovazione dove tecnologia e creatività potranno integrare le persone più vulnerabili nei mercati del lavoro del futuro. Il nostro augurio è di poter ispirare altre associazioni, aziende ed entità verso gli stessi ambizioni obiettivi. Nella realtà Helvetis e nel mondo energetico, questo può significare l’inclusione di decine di persone per il pilotaggio droni da remoto o lo sviluppo di reti neurali per una più ampia gamma di funzioni come rilevamenti geotermici, sistemi di sicurezza, impianti solari, idroelettrici, etc. Nel mondo intero, la tecnologia e il messaggio condiviso dal progetto DND potranno poi stimolare altri soggetti verso la inclusione sociale di persone vulnerabili in qualsiasi mansioni eseguibile dallo schermo di un pc.

Il progetto prevede cinque fasi suddivise nell’arco di 12 mesi:

• Sviluppo interfaccia e training professionale; 
• Adeguamento tecnologico e training tecnico;
• Creazione Intelligenza Artificiale;
• Automazione e lancio nel mercato;
• Ampliamento progetto ad altre tecnologie ed altre persone;

Il progetto ha un budget di sviluppo totale per i primi 12 mesi di 100.000€, di cui sono già stati raccolti il 70%.

Fra le voci di spesa, le maggiori sono quelle di adeguamento tecnologico, sviluppo software, assistenza, costi di training e di professionalizzazione, e di retribuzione per la persona coinvolta.

Tutte le donazioni raccolte andranno a finanziare lo sviluppo del progetto ed eventuali futuri ricavi ad alimentarne l’espansione. Il nome del progetto nasce da una affermazione dello stesso Pellegrino che, di fronte all'impossibilità di un'offerta di lavoro dopo anni di ricerca, lanciava il suo grido di rabbia durante un servizio televisivo nel 2017.

The “DND project” strives for the social inclusion of people with disabilities through the technological adaptation of their difficulties to the professions of tomorrow. The objective of the project is to finally make independent in the job market those who until now have been excluded and had to make use of social assistance.

The DND charity project is promoted by Helvetis SA, a Swiss company specialized in drone technology, robotics and softwares, and operating in the wind turbine maintenance market in off shore wind farms located off the North Sea. The first beneficiary is a person from Palermo, Gianluca Pellegrino, suffering from spastic quadriplegia and only able to move his tongue (and by the way, very good!). The project involves the development of an artificial intelligence algorithm for the analysis of wind turbine blades that will be developed by hand - or rather, by tongue - by Gianluca himself. The interface developed by Helvetis will allow him to interact more easily with the work software and, once he will have completed a professionalizing course in the field of wind and computer science, he will be able to carry out the task of creating the neural network, through the review of the images of state of wind turbines collected by Helvetis via aerial drones.

This project paves the way for a new chapter of innovation where technology and creativity can integrate the most vulnerable people into the labor markets of the future. Our wish is to be able to inspire other associations, companies and entities towards the same objective ambitions. In the Helvetis reality and in the energy world, this can mean the inclusion of dozens of people for remote drone piloting or the development of neural networks for a wider range of functions such as geothermal surveys, safety systems, solar, hydroelectric plants, etc. In the whole world, the technology and the message shared by the DND project can then stimulate other subjects towards the social inclusion of vulnerable people in any task executable from a PC screen.

The project involves five phases divided over 12 months:

• Interface development and professional training; 
• Technological adjustment and technical training provided by IVPC; 
• Code writing and neural network training;
• Neural network automation and market launch;
• Project expansion to other technologies and other people;

The project has a total development budget for the first 12 months of € 100,000, of which 70% have already been collected. Among the items of expenditure, the major ones are those of technological adaptation, software development, assistance, training and professionalization costs, and remuneration for the person involved. All donations collected will go towards financing the development of the project and any future revenues to fuel its expansion.
