Stiamo cercando di acquistare e ristrutturare una vecchia cascina o rustico pastorale tra l’Appennino ligure e le Valli Occitane, per farne un luogo di studio, ricerca, ospitalità e scambio culturale, nel rispetto dell’ambiente e delle comunità locali.

Il progetto nasce dalla volontà di creare uno spazio decentrato, sostenibile, autonomo e realmente condiviso, dove custodire e rendere accessibile un archivio (già in parte strutturato e in divenire) di opere e pubblicazioni d’arte contemporanea (cataloghi, scritti teorici, materiali effimeri), con particolare attenzione per le scritture di ricerca e le opere inscrivibili negli ambiti dell’arte povera e della Land Art.

Cosa realizzeremo

• Ristrutturazione dell’immobile in bioedilizia, con materiali locali e tecniche a basso impatto ambientale.
• Spazi aperti al pubblico per la consultazione e la fruizione libera delle opere.
• Esposizione permanente delle opere in archivio.
• Eventi culturali in presenza e online: incontri, mostre, presentazioni, letture.
• Laboratori e micro-residenze d’artista in collaborazione con altre realtà del territorio.
• Attività di monitoraggio e studio dell’impatto antropico del progetto sul contesto naturale.

Un modello alternativo: fuori dal turismo, dentro il territorio

Vogliamo costruire una forte elemento di rottura del paradigma dominante, asservito alla gentrificazione, processo che consuma i luoghi invece di ascoltarli.

Il progetto si ispira a un’idea di abitare sensibile, che sta lentamente affermandosi in altre realtà come le Valli Maira e Casotto (CN), attraverso esperienze di delocalizzazione di laboratori universitari e di altri spazi vivi di relazione, studio e creazione, non vetrine.

Perché il crowdfunding?

Il crowdfunding è parte stessa dell’etica del progetto: il gesto collettivo di una comunità in divenire.

Inoltre, vorremmo evitare burocrazia e vincoli dei bandi ordinari, per costruire qualcosa di realmente condiviso.

We are seeking to purchase and renovate an old farmhouse or pastoral dwelling in the area between the Ligurian Apennines and the Occitan Valleys, to create a place for study, research, hospitality, and cultural exchange, in full respect of the environment and local communities.

The project stems from the desire to establish a decentralized, sustainable, autonomous, and truly shared space, where an archive—already partly structured and still evolving—of contemporary art works and publications (catalogues, theoretical writings, ephemeral materials) can be preserved and made accessible, with a special focus on experimental writing and works connected to Arte Povera and Land Art.

What we will create

• Renovation of the property using green building techniques, local materials, and low-impact methods.
• Public spaces for consultation and free access to the works.
• A permanent exhibition of the archived works.
• Cultural events, both in-person and online: meetings, exhibitions, presentations, readings.
• Workshops and micro-residencies for artists, in collaboration with other local initiatives.
• Monitoring and study of the project’s anthropic impact on the natural environment.

An alternative model: beyond tourism, rooted in the territory.

We aim to build a strong break from the dominant paradigm, tied to gentrification—a process that consumes places rather than listening to them.

The project is inspired by an idea of sensitive dwelling, which is slowly taking shape in other contexts such as the Maira and Casotto Valleys (Cuneo), through the decentralization of university laboratories and the creation of other living spaces for relationships, study, and creation—not showcases.

Why crowdfunding?

Crowdfunding is an integral part of the project’s ethics: the collective gesture of a community in the making.

Moreover, we want to avoid the bureaucracy and constraints of ordinary funding schemes, in order to build something truly shared.
